Many people ask us what makeup goes best with which eye color. Eye Steppes took the guesswork out of it, and with an enormous variety! Shawn Towne, our National Makeup Educator and National Makeup Artist, has some beautiful ideas for you. I’ll start with green because it’s my natural eye color. Then, I’ll add brown and blue to my next posts. There are also tips on how to use the brushes.
A Simple Daytime Outfit
Use the Eye Shadow Brush for applying Allure (the large base color at the top of the Eye Steppes stack) to the entire lid from the lashes to the eyebrow.
Use your Shader Brush and press Iris, the lightest shade of the middle Steppe (the inner third of the eyes).
Use Grape (the purple shade from the bottom Steppe) to apply the color on the outer fourth, from the lashes upwards over the crease. Use the Crease Brush to create a subtle wash or the Chisel Shader Brush to achieve intense color.
Use the Crease Brush and press Sepia into the lower lash line. If you want to increase the intensity, mist the brush.
The Perfect Playtime Outfit
Press the Chisel Shader Brush to the inner two-thirds of the eyelid. The lashes should crease.
Use the Chisel Shader Brush and press Slate into the outer third, from the crease to the lashes. The Small Fluff Brush can be used to trace under the lower lash line.
Use a tissue to wipe off the Chisel Shader Brush and press Sepia just above and into the crease in the middle of the eye.
You can clean the brush once more (do you get the idea that this brush has a lot of versatility? This is the only brush that I would use if I were stranded on an island. Apply Allure to the browbone at the center.
Now, be brave! Use Grape to apply the outer third of the eyelashes, up towards the brow.
Blend everything with the Oval Blender Brush for the best results. Illustrations of the final looks have been blended less for, well, illustration purposes 😉 Apply plenty of PureLash Lash Extender & Conditioner.
